Drive along Little River Road to one of the Smokies' most dramatic geological features — a powerful waterfall that disappears into a deep pool carved by centuries of rushing water. A short walk from the parking area rewards you with stunning views.

Drive to the highest point in the Smoky Mountains at 6,643 feet. The road winds through dense spruce-fir forest to a parking area, then a steep half-mile walk leads to a concrete observation tower with sweeping 360-degree views.

A narrow, one-way loop road winding through old-growth forest alongside the Roaring Fork stream. Features historic log cabins, a grist mill, and Place of a Thousand Drips waterfall. Closed in winter.

The only road that crosses the Smokies from Tennessee to North Carolina. Climb from 1,000 feet at the park entrance to 5,046 feet at Newfound Gap, passing through multiple climate zones, scenic overlooks, and the Rockefeller Memorial.

An 11-mile one-way loop road through a large valley surrounded by mountains. Watch for wildlife including white-tailed deer, black bears, and wild turkeys. The cove also features preserved 19th-century homesteads, grist mills, and churches.
